STO Safe Torque Off (STO, Safe Torque Off) function is to prevent the motor from producing torque when the motor stops, so that the machine becomes a part of the safety system; the following uses Yaskawa Servo as an example to explain in detail how to implement the STO function electrically.
The 24V power supply is connected to the CN8 interface of the Yaskawa servo drive through the 3 NO contacts of the safety relay, and the STO function is realized by cutting off the motor current through hardware. The specific operation process is as follows: After pressing the emergency stop button SB1, the NO contact of the safety relay is disconnected, and the 24V power supply of the CN8 interface of the servo drive is disconnected. By blocking the drive signal of the power module that controls the motor current, the power module can be turned off. Cut off the motor current to realize the STO function. Reset operation, after resetting the emergency stop SB1 button, press the SB2 reset button again, the safety relay resets the NO contact, and the 24V power supply normally supplies power to the CN8 interface. The motor returns to normal.
In the realm of manufacturing and fabrication, the precision and efficiency of cutting processes are critical to the success of any project. Fiber laser cutting machines have become the industry standard, offering a level of accuracy and speed that traditional cutting methods simply cannot match. In this blog post, we will delve into the various functions and capabilities of fiber laser cutting machines, exploring how they contribute to a wide array of applications across different industries.
Fiber laser cutting machines utilize the power of a laser beam to cut through materials with exceptional precision. The laser beam is generated by a fiber optic cable and is directed through a series of lenses to focus the beam onto the material, which is then cut by the intense heat. This technology is particularly effective for cutting metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and brass, but it can also be used for non-metallic materials.
One of the key functions of fiber laser cutting machines is their ability to cut through a diverse array of materials. This includes but is not limited to:
Metals: Stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, and various alloys.
Non-metals: Plastics, acrylics, wood, and even certain types of stone.
This versatility makes fiber laser cutting machines invaluable in industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical, electronics, and more.
Fiber laser cutting machines are renowned for their precision. The focused laser beam allows for extremely tight tolerances, which is crucial for intricate designs and complex patterns. This precision is particularly important in industries where the quality of the cut directly impacts the performance of the final product.
The speed at which fiber laser cutting machines operate is another significant function. They can cut through materials at a much faster rate than traditional methods, significantly reducing production times and increasing efficiency. This is especially beneficial for high-volume production environments.
The quality of the cut is another area where fiber laser cutting machines excel. The heat-affected zone is minimal, resulting in clean, burr-free edges that require little to no post-processing. This not only saves time but also ensures a higher quality product.
