1st method: Contro by the system 

1st method

Take the CYPCUT system as an example to introduce in detail:  CYPCUT height controller (firmware version 3188 and above) has provided an independent Z-axis brake signal interface. Connect the two brake signal wires of the servo motor to the brake interface on the back panel of the height controller (no need Distinguish the positive and negative poles), the Z-axis brake control can be realized (it is not recommended to pull out the enable signal of the height controller connected to the servo separately for emergency stop. This operation will cause the brake function of the height controller to be abnormal ). When the height controller outputs the servo enable, it also outputs the brake release signal, that is, the positive and negative interfaces of the brake output 24V; when the enable is closed or a servo alarm is generated, the brake signal output is disconnected.


2nd is controlled by the digital output point of the servo drive  

Method 2 The drive itself controls the brake, which is safer and more direct. better result The following uses Yaskawa Motor as an example to provide a wiring method for the motor brake. The other servo principles are basically the same.

There will be two signal ports on the motor driver side (such as Yaskawa’s 27 and 28 ports). The logical relationship is that when the enable is on, these two signal ports are on; when the enable is off, they are off. This signal is used to control the brake, so that when the motor is enabled, the brake is released, and the brake is clamped after the enable is disconnected.

2nd method

Note: The 24V supplied by the motor brake line needs to be powered by the switching power supply

 Summary: It is better to use the drive to control the brake. The brake coil acts more quickly, and there is no lag in action caused by a delay. Some brakes are controlled by the system to cause the brake coils to operate delayed, which will cause the Z-axis to slide down. Therefore, it is recommended to use the driver itself to control the brake coil, which is simple, direct and effective.
