CNC fibre laser cutting machine is widely used for cutting metal materials while co2 laser cutter equipment is mainly used for cutting nonmetal materials. But some co2 laser cutter equipment can cut both metal and nonmetal materials. Then,what is the difference between fiber metal laser cutter and co2 metal laser cutter?
Fibre laser cutting machine almost do not have consumable parts except some smaller and cheap ones like protect mirror,nozzles etc. The fiber laser source has lifetime 100000 hours which can go as long as the machine. But the laser tube of co2 laser cutting machine has working lifetime of 10000 hours and can use 2-3 years.That means,you need to buy new laser tube for your co2 laser cutter every 2-3 years. This is no needed for fiber laser cutter.
When cutting steel,the cutting speed of fiber laser cutter is much faster than that of co2 laser cutter. Speed of fiber laser cutter is about 8 times of co2 laser speed. If you want to cut metal at faster cutting speed and get high work efficiency,fiber laser cutting machine is your best choice.
The cutting effect of fibre laser cutting machine is much cleaner than that of co2 laser cutter equipment. You can get a very clean edge if you use fiber metal laser cutter to cut metal.The cutting edge of co2 laser cutter is acceptable but not as clean as the edge cut by fiber laser cutter.
Fiber laser cutter can cut mild steel up to 25mm while co2 laser cutter can cut steel maximum 3mm. If you need to cut steel more than 3mm,you have to choose fiber laser because co2 laser can not cut it.
Co2 laser cutting equipment can cut both metal and nonmetal like acrylic,wood,plastics while fiber laser cutter can only cut metal materials. Fibre laser cutting machine can cut stainless steel,mild steel,aluminum,copper,brass,galvanized sheet and other metal materials.
